Golf Course Agronomy
Optimize fairways and greens health and growth by measuring soil moisture, temperature and oxygen levels. Minimize the effort and cost of irrigation, and use in tandem with SubAir(TM) where applicable
Turf Fields and Stadiums
Measure and optimize turf health for sports fields, stadiums and racetracks wirelessly from sensors buried 10-15 cm underground. Integrate measurements with irrigation and field management systems through an API
Agriculture and Crops
Maximize growth of crops such as strawberries, tomatoes, potatoes, and more, by measuring soil and moisture conditions underground. Combine with farm asset management and other digital data to optimize efficiency and margins
Tank Measurement
Safely and accurately measure diverse liquids such as water, diesel, liquid fertiliser and more, to optimize your productivity and costs, for multiple tanks simultaneously. Integrate to external systems for decision support purposes
Soil Scout Hub (Analytics)
The Soil Scout Hub is the 'brains' of the Soil Scout solution. All collected data may be reviewed, analysed against field capacity and water balance, and more, using through a web browser on a mobile or laptop. A REST API enables all data to be exported and/or used for automation purposes such as irrigation.
Soil Scout Hydra
The Hydra sensor or Scout is the 'muscle' of the Soil Scout solution; it does the work of periodically (typically every 55 min) measuring soil moisture, temperature and salinity, from 10 cm to over 2m underground, and transmitting it to the Base Station for up to 20 years. A 'Dual Depth' Sensor option is also available.
Soil Scout Base Station
The solar-powered Base Station is the 'connective tissue' of the Soil Scout solution, collecting data from up to 1,000 Hydra's, and communicating this to the Hub. Not shown is the (Yagi or Omni) receiving antenna and co-axial cable.
Echo Repeater (Optional)
The solar-powered Echo Repeater may be used to 'boost' signals received from the nearest Hydras, up to 10 km away to a receiving base station, extending the serviced area of moisture measurements. These may be 'daisy chained' for extreme requirements.
Complete Soil Scout Solution
The maximum range that a given Hydra can transmit its data is a function of how deeply it's buried, the nature of the soil (Soil Scouts are used in clay, loamy, sandy, and stony soils), moisture in the soil, and the amount of foliage on the ground, as well as the location, antenna gain, antenna height of the receiving antenna, and any natural or artificial clutter (for typical sports turf, ranges of 400m or more may be achieved without an Echo repeater). As part of our solution design, Turf Metrix offers - with the assistance of Soil Scout - a 'Site Design' service to optimize the location and design of a minimum amount of equipment to meet your needs, and make use of existing buildings or structures to do so. Soil Scout Base Stations have even been mounted on tall trees! Once the equipment arrives, it's designed to be installed on a DIY basis (we can provide assistance if needed) - and you are ready to go!
In real-time, or on a forecast basis (typically 3-7 days in advance), use Agdir's integrated soil measurement, weather conditions, and forecasts to decide what you need to do next, in what order of priority, for each field, crop, and type of soil on your farm.
The MTSS centralized logger is contained in an environmentally robust, industrialized housing. Up to 8 external sensors, supporting all types of telemetry, can be added on a water- and dust-proof basis, to support reliable measurements
